From 2012 entry onwards, interviews will be used as part of the selection process for both Medicine and Dentistry.
They will rank applicants on the basis of the combined GCSE and UKCAT scores with the best 9 GCSE subjects being counted and the new bandings for UKCAT. Those who are ranked within the numbers to be interviewed will be shortlisted (approximately 500 for Medicine and 110 for Dentistry) and the remainder will be unsuccessful.
Offers will then be made on the basis of Interview ranking.
There is information on preparing for interviews for medicine and dentistry on thecareersroom.com.

Russell Group Publish Facilitating Subjects List |
|
|
|
Some university courses do not specify particular A level subjects for entry.
However some university courses do require specific A level subjects to have been studied. The Russell Group of universities which includes QUB has published a list of A level subjects which are most commonly required for entry. One or more of these subjects may be required for entry to high demand courses at their universities.
You simply need to check individual course entry requirements to verify which, if any, are required.
A full explanation and list of facilitating subjects can be downloaded at this link. |
